Saber Life Foundation partners with several local accredited trainers here in Missouri. Through these partnerships, Saber Life Foundation is able to offer specialized training for the service dog that is soon to be an anchor in your life.
The Training Process: what to expect
Handler Training: What does this process look like?
Handler Training is where the disabled party learns how to work with their service dog, as a team. This training begins as early as 8 months and continues on while the service dog and disabled party learn to work together and build their unique relationship over the coming years. The service-dog-in-training learns how to respond to the specific needs of the handler, and when the handler learns how to reinforce the training that the dog has already received.
Here at Saber Life Foundation, we have a lifelong commitment to each recipient and each dog that we place. We maintain contact to ensure that the dog’s training remains consistent, that the dog remains healthy and happy, and to ensure that the dog is indeed improving the quality of life for the intended recipient.
